I won’t quote a made-up “certification adds X%” figure, because there isn’t a reliable South-Africa-specific one. What’s true is simpler: more employers now list a recognised change qualification as a requirement or a strong preference, and a globally recognised certificate helps you clear that first filter and get to the interview.

Who is it most worth it for?

Be honest with yourself about which group you’re in:

• Career-changers moving into change or transformation — it gives you credibility you don’t yet have from experience.
• Project managers, business analysts, HR and L&D professionals — change skills make you noticeably more effective on work you already touch.

And who might reasonably skip it? A seasoned change lead with a long, demonstrable track record may not need Foundation to prove the basics — though even then, many go for Practitioner or the certificate to satisfy procurement and formalise what they already do.

Foundation, Practitioner, or both?

My straight recommendation: if you’re testing the waters, start with Foundation — it has no prerequisites and proves you know the principles. If you already know change is your direction, go with the Foundation & Practitioner bundle. Practitioner is what shows employers you can apply the method to a live situation, and buying the pair together saves money.
